Foster Care Or Adoption?

Adoption and foster care are two very different things. The variations between the two are small to large. When the visits to the home beforehand are through, the social worker is finished and not a necessity anymore. The adoption will be final and the child yours. It will be you and you alone deciding things. When it is time to take them to the doctor, it is you who chooses the treatments. The countless number of issues is yours to decide with no one to be looking at you every step of the way. This kid is no different form one of your own. You are now in charge and the one who is liable for the safety of the kid until they reach adulthood. You are now the one who has to shoulder the blame for them through the law.

If this kid has been in foster care before, you and the social worker will need to transfer the child over to a new way of thinking. Life books or diaries are wonderful. Make a big deal about the new member. This will be a chance for the child to realize this is permanent. The whole family is able to join in and welcome the kid. The kid needs to realize that they are finally home and do not ever have to go away again. Tell them how this makes you feel. A celebration for the kid is perfect and the bigger the better. Announce to the world that the kid has arrived. These are great ways to show how proud you are. Find out what the adopted child and the rest of the family want to do for this great event.

Bring about a mixing of all the new kid’s experiences and past with yours. You cannot forget where this kid came from. If this kid is from a home that experienced abuse of any type. Training might be a good idea so you will be able to see how it affects the kid and what you can do to help. If the kid is to visit with foster families or their birth families, you will need to address the issues of time management. If the kid has special needs, allowances will be made. Find out what resources are available for their individual specific situation. Money may be available to you also. Changing from a temporary home to a permanent home is a scary event. The kid will need to be moved from one way of thinking to another. You will need to be in a place to accept this kid as your own till they become an adult. Is this something you are ready to do? Can you face the good and bad times of this new family member?

Is this particular kid one with whom you can spend the rest of your life with? Look into how this change will affect everything. The agency helping you could be able to take you form a to z and explain things to you.

Holidays Becoming Hollow Days Because You Can’t Get Pregnant?

When it comes to the holidays are you thinking “I’ll just be glad when it’s all over with”? You’re not alone. Many people believe that we’ve gotten away from the true meaning of the season, with consumerism and unrealistic expectations taking all the fun out of things. But that’s not at all why you’re dreading the holidays this year, is it? Have the holidays become “”hollow days”" because you don’t have children yet?

The holiday season means different things to us over the years. As a child it is a time of wonder and excitement. Everything seems to have a special sparkle about it. As a college student it is that welcome break that follows all night study sessions, term papers and final exams. Oh yeah, and a time to eat mom’s home cooking. It is a time of spiritual preparation and reflection and a time to realign priorities. And as adults we get the opportunity to rediscover magic through our children. But, when you long to be a parent, the holidays can become a painful reminder of what’s missing in your life. Holiday traditions can seem hollow and empty without a child to share them with.

It’s no wonder those struggling to build a family find themselves feeling increasingly stressed and sad as the holidays approach. Here are some tips to help you get through the next month and maybe even experience some joy along the way.

* Bow out with…with a plan: You certainly don’t have to go to every party or gathering you’re invited to, especially if seeing pregnant friends or new babies leave you bawling in the bathroom instead of enjoying the party. It may be helpful to plan something else special for that evening so you won’t be focused on what you’re missing.

* Keep it brief: If you decide to attend an event, have a plan to hit the road early if you find yourself becoming upset.

* Give it a rest: Take a vacation from the holidays this year. And while you’re at it, how about a vacation from infertility? Get away to one of your favorite spots and spend some quality time with your honey.

* Breathe: It’s amazing how often we stop breathing when we become stressed. Make it a habit to be aware of your breath. Take several deep, cleansing breaths throughout the day. These mini-energizers can be real lifesavers.

* Move:Exercise is a fabulous stress reducer and can even help you sleep better at night. Here’s some ideas: take your dog for a brisk walk for 20 minutes a day, use that gym membership you keep threatening to cancel, call your best friend to go for a bike ride, take the stairs, go bowling… oh, and don’ t you have inline skates somewhere in your garage?

* Tickle your funny bone: How long has it been since you’ve had a good belly laugh? Look for opportunities to experience joy. Rent one of your all time favorite funny movies or make plans to go with some friends to a comedy club. Talk about stress reduction… there’s nothing like a good laugh.

* Have vs. have nots: Start and end each and every day by focusing on all the wonderful things that are going well in your life. Fertility problems can totally eclipse your life and get you thinking about all that’s missing, wrong or unfair. It’s important to lend our energy to what’s going right in your life.

* Bend an Ear: Talk with your partner, a trusted friend or family member about what you’re feeling. Be prepared to ask for the type of support you find most helpful, as those closest to you may not know how best to help. And don’t be afraid to reach out for professional guidance and support when you need to. We all need a helping hand from time to time.

Adoption Poem – A Birth Mother’s Hope For Solace and Closure

Having to give your daughter or son up for adoption is a very painful experience. But you are not alone in your emotional turmoil. A lot of birth mothers who have given up their children feel that same pain. How do they cope with it? By sharing their experiences through an adoption poem.

Sharing your personal experience is one of the most therapeutic ways for you to begin the healing process and overcome feelings of guilt and regret. It is one of the most effective ways that women, because of extreme circumstances are forced to give their children up for adoption, can gain closure.

Writing poetry begins the healing process that grants them peace of mind. It washes away the guilt and reinforces the knowledge that wherever your child may be, he or she is safe and may be taken cared for by adoptive parents who can give him or her, a chance at a life you’ve hoped for them. By writing down your experiences and feelings in apoem, you can begin to hope, to start over and be able to carry on with your own life.

There are a lot of things that you can write about in an adoption poem. Birth mothers, who have come to terms with their adoption, often write prayer-poems, asking God to watch over their children. Others write about who their children are and what they will become in the future. Some dream of meeting their children again, and when that time comes, hope they will understand the choice of adoption.

If you don’t know how to start, begin by reading up on poems written by other women. If you are a member of a local adoption support group, ask for help. Chances are, they may have copies of poems about adoption that may mirror your very own experience. You may also find poetry anthologies in you local library. Or, you may find poetry on adoption online. Do a web search and you may find poetry on adoption that’s close to your heart.

You can also find many helpful guides for writing your own poem online. You can write an adoption poem about how you felt when you were having your child. You can also write about your worries, your fears, and your hopes of giving your child a good life. Write one that says something about why you had to give him or her up.

Writing honestly about how letting go was the only way you could ever hope he or she may be well-cared for. Through such expression, you might be able to share the hope that one day your child may understand your decision and not think less of you.

Start on your own path to self-healing through writing. Read more about how other birth mothers have written their own poems and start from there. One that is well-circulated over the internet ends with a fervent prayer to a birth mother’s son, that as he looks back and wonders why she gave her up, he would see and understand that it was love that made her let him go.

7 Tips to Increase Your Chance of Getting Pregnant

Being able to increase chance of getting pregnant is not always an easy thing to do. Very few partners conceive on the first attempt. As a matter of fact, even if everything is absolutely in perfect working order and all the conditions are right, you only have a 20-25% probability of conception each month. If you are under thirty, and have not conceived in 12 months, you should make an appointment to visit a Health care Professional as there could be some unknown problem preventing you from being able to conceive.

How to increase chance of getting pregnant? Seven powerful tips!

Dump the birth control pill.

Yes, the very first thing to do is to forget about birth control methods you have been using. You may notice some changes in your cycle and it may require a couple of months or more for your cycle to get back to normal. But a lot of women are fertile the first month after they stop using the Pill. The same is true for the contraceptive patch and ring.

Consume a lot of folic acid.

Folic acid is an artificial variety of foliate, a B vitamin that can assist in reducing the chance of serious birth defects that impact the brain and spinal cord.

Stop smoking, drinking and drugs immediately.

Smoking or using drugs greatly decreases your probabilities of conceiving and can contribute to miscarriages, premature birth, and low-birth weight babies. Also, smoking can affect your fertility and lower your spouses sperm count.

Cut back on your Caffeine intake.

Too much caffeine could reduce your ability to absorb iron and step-up your chance for stillbirth. Avoid coffee, tea, and colas or switch to decaf to increase your chances of conceiving

Timing is everything.

You will have little chance of conceiving if you have intercourse on the wrong days. Work out your ovulation days with an ovulation calendar to increase your opportunity of conception.

Which position is best?
The missionary position allows for the best opportunity for conceiving, this position provides for the deepest penetration which allows the sperm closer to the cervix. For further effectiveness, the woman elevates her hips with a pillow so her cervix is exposed to the maximum amount of semen. Using these six tips will greatly increase your chance of getting pregnant.

Tip Seven! How to get more sperm out of your man? Ask your mate to get rid of all briefs and opt for boxers instead for a healthier sperm count., Having sex in the morning would help since the seminal fluid has the greatest number of sperm in the morning. If you really want to get more sperm…Talk dirty to him. That’s another subject you can check it out at: Examples Of Dirty Talking. Drive your man crazy with desire!

You Are Pregnant? Then Take Care of Yourself

When you are pregnant you should be in contact with your doctor who will guide you through all the checkups you should need.

The doctor should be familiar with your medical history in order to care for you properly. Before you do anything unusual check with your doctor first to make sure it is safe.

Important you know that the changes are different from woman to woman and each pregnancy is different from the previous one. Your body is constantly changing physically along with emotional and mental changes you will experience,

One of the first things you might experience in the beginning of pregnancy is morning sickness which makes you feel like throwing up and not wanting to eat, this could happen at nighttime also. This usually lasts a few weeks to a month but then you should feel like eating again and your menu is endless.

You may also feel very tired and sleepy, that is natural. Then usually around the 4th or 5th month your stomach will start growing and you will feel the additional weight you will carry around. Sometimes you will feel moody and sensitive, you will want attention, a cozy home with lots of love and support from your partner.

Food
During your pregnancy you can eat almost anything that is healthy and nourishing. Sometimes you will find yourself craving something strange or unusual for you, that is common.

You may find that food you used to like doesn’t appeal to you now and foods you didn’t like will appeal to you. This is a hormonal thing and is natural. Just remember everything you put in your mouth will affect the baby.

If it is a food product that causes gas both of you will suffer from it so choose wisely what you eat. You want your baby to come into this world healthy and strong.

Vitamins

Vitamins are very good for you during your pregnancy. They are good as a back up to your diet and they are good for the baby.

If you are not sure you eat enough good food the vitamins will do the job. You need to get advice from your doctor as to which vitamins you should take. There are a lot of vitamins and companies that make them but it is best to talk to your doctor.

The doctor may prescribe different vitamins to different women so it is best to talk to him/her.

While pregnant the body is transforming to a different level. It has 9 months to prepare for the due day.

Everything is very gradual and has a reason. As we have said before it is different from woman to woman. Some women grow a lot while other women hardly increase in size, but the stomach seems to always look like a balloon or a basketball.

There are physical changes because you are now living for two. You need to take care of yourself and pay attention to any pains you may feel, blood spots, marks on your skin, etc.

Usually around the 5th month you will feel the baby move. It will feel like a flutter and as it grows it will start to kick and move around.

During the pregnancy you can become very moody and sensitive .you may cry very easily or become angry very fast or on the other hand you will have moments of joy and happiness. Always remember to keep your heart open and try to get everything through love.

To listen to the real you deep inside this is the time you develop a new sense called “mother’s intuition”, it is something you just know and there is no explanation as to where it comes from or how. Well pregnancy is the beginning for you to listen to your intuition, what is good for you, what kind of food makes you feel good, and what is good for the baby and you together, whether it is a boy or girl.

Unique Baby Names

Expectant parents often say they are looking for a unique baby name. But what do they mean? Do they really want a name that is totally unique? In the strictest sense, if you want such a name, then of course you want it to be the only one of its kind. But how realistic is that?

Realistic or not, a sizeable number of prospective parents still try to come up with “one-of-a-kind” names. Some names, such as Mackenzie, now have literally dozens of spelling variations, including McKenzee, MacKinzee, and Machenzie. But taken to the extreme, the hunt for a unique baby name can lead to some curious, clunky variants. Do you want your child to be named “Mukkenzy,” after all other possible variations have been taken, simply so your boy or girl can have that unique name? Probably not. You probably don’t want to go with a name like Pilot Inspektor, Moxie Crimefighter, or Version 2.0 either.

A growing body of research suggests that giving your child a unique baby name may not be the best thing for the child, longterm. This argument holds that your name subtly influences how people see you, and this affects how they treat you. In turn, this influences your self-image and self-esteem, starting as a small child. In its simplest form, a child with a ‘weird’ name, such as Elmer, may be continuously teased in school, and this will hurt Elmer’s self-image and future development. By contrast, ‘Alexander,’ named after the great emperor, may be empowered by his name, because other people unconsciously respond to him with a certain level of respect.

Robert Needlman, MD, has written an interesting discussion of this topic. The research implies that boys with unusual first names tend to display more emotional disturbances than boys with more traditional names. But, as Dr. Needlman points out, it is important not to overstate the case. Are the boys in question more troubled because of their names, or because of the parental support structure which gave them strange names in the first place? Nonetheless, there are many instances where ‘desirable’ names are shown to lead to greater success. A recent report from the School of Business at Arizona State University shows that the names of top CEOs in Phoenix come from a disproportionately small group of names, implying that certain names are more likely to lead to greater success. The three most successful names in the study group were Robert, John, and Steve.

But whether or not it’s a good idea to give a child a unique name, some parents seem driven to find one. The following list may make it a little easier.

While the following names are not totally unique, they are very unusual. They are real names, and some even have very interesting histories. The boy’s name Jago, for instance, is a variant of the name James, from Cornwall, in England. And the girl’s name Lettice is another old name, Latin in origin, meaning “gladness.”

But while all these names are “real,” none of them has been in the top 1000 names in the last hundred years, according to U.S. Social Security data. Maybe they’re not one hundred percent unique. But they’re unusual, out-of-the-ordinary, and very individual. If that’s the kind of name your’e looking for, then this list is definitely for you.

Girls’ Names: Briony, Dalena, Easter, Flick, Gaia, Happy, Jaine, Lettice, Odelia, Opal, Posy, Saffron, Tarina, Unity, Wilda, Xanthe, Zinnia.

Boys’ Names: Alban, Barker, Chay, Digby, Edan, Fergal, Jago, Laban, Napier, Parsifal, Somerled, Trayton, Urban, Vanslow, Yorick, Zeno.

Getting Pregnant Naturally – 10 Most Frequently Asked Questions

Deciding to get pregnant is exciting, but it can also be confusing. As you get ready to embark on the journey toward motherhood, you may have lots of questions. Here are some of the most frequently asked questions with answers that are sure to help.

Question #1 – How long will it take me to get pregnant?
There is no definitive answer to this. Some women conceive the first month they try and for other women it takes many months, and, in some cases, years.

Question #2 – How often do I need to have sex in order to get pregnant?
It is best to have intercourse every 48 hours during the time of your monthly cycle when you are most likely to conceive. Too much sex can be detrimental to sperm counts, so that is why 48 hours is an acceptable frequency.

Question#3 – When during my cycle should I be having sex?
Ovulation is the time in a woman’s cycle when an egg is released from the ovary and travels through the fallopian tube. It is during the predicted time of ovulation that you should be having intercourse.

Question #4 – How can I determine when I’m ovulating?
If you have regular menstrual cycles, you can use a calendar to determine when you ovulate, which is usually 10 to 14 days after the start of your period. If you have irregular cycles, tracking basal body temperature or cervical mucus is a way of determining ovulation. You can also purchase ovulation kits that test urine to predict ovulation.

Question #5 – How long do I need to be off birth control before I can get pregnant?
You need to be off the birth control pill long enough for you to begin ovulating. For some women, ovulation begins again within a few weeks of stopping the pill, but for others, ovulation begins again within a few months. As long as ovulation has begun, you potentially get pregnant.

Question #6 – How soon after intercourse will a home pregnancy test tell me whether or not I am pregnant?
The home pregnancy tests on the market give conflicting answers to this question. Ultimately, a home pregnancy test will be the most accurate seven days after the day you were supposed to get your period.

Question #7 – Is it okay to be exercising when I’m trying to get pregnant?
Normal, moderate exercise is fine when you are trying to conceive. In fact, it is good to exercise normally. However, extreme and extended amounts of exercise can cause you to stop ovulating, which will definitely prevent pregnancy.

Question #8 – Is it okay to smoke or drink when I’m trying to get pregnant?
It is never okay to smoke or drink when you are trying to get pregnant. First of all, tobacco and alcohol can have adverse effects on that body that will prevent conception. But, should you get pregnant while smoking or drinking, those drugs could harm the baby you are carrying. Stay away from tobacco, alcohol, and all illegal drugs.

Question #9 – What are the best intercourse positions for getting pregnant?
You can get pregnant using any position, but the position with the woman on her back and the man on top is thought to give a greater probability of the sperm traveling up to the fallopian tube.

Question #10 – How long should I wait before seeing a fertility specialist?
Obstetricians will tell you that you should be actively trying for a year to get pregnant before you consider seeking fertility help.

How to Have a Boy Baby – Natural Gender Selection Methods

Determining gender of baby pre-conception has been something people have been trying since the dawn of time. In the past, the techniques to accomplish choosing a boy or girl child involved a lot of guesswork, some old wives tales, and maybe a tiny bit of science. There were foods to conceive a boy, positions to conceive a girl, exercises to do and elixirs to drink. Right or wrong, these methods were hard to prove effective… or even ineffective. Under normal circumstances you have a 50/50 chance of producing the desired sex anyway, so unless you the same methodology is closely followed and that data is gathered over a longer period of time – there’s just no way of knowing which gender selection pregnancy techniques worked best. Until now.

The tips and tricks below will teach you how to have a boy baby. They’ve been gathered and compiled together using carefully plotted research over a period of many years. With just a few modifications to your diet, exercise, and sexual routine, you can determine gender of baby each time, every time. Here are just some of the techniques you should be using in order to have that son you’ve always wanted:

* The Shettles Method – One that that’s been proven beyond a shadow of a doubt: male sperm (y-sperm) travel faster than female sperm (x-sperm). It’s also been noted that the x-chromosomed sperm die out faster than the female ones, which live longer and tend to have more endurance. Taking this into account, the shorter the distance that needs to be traveled to reach the egg – the MUCH greater your chances are of having a male child. As the distance gets further, your chances of conceiving a girl are greatly increased.

Where does this all apply in how to have a boy baby? The answer is simple: the closer you have intercourse to your exact ovulation date, the better your chances of having a male child. Try to plan as much sex as possible on or about the date of ovulation (usually 1 day before or after). The Shettles technique recommends having sex as early as 24 hours before ovulation up to and including no more than 12 hours past the predicted time you ovulated in order to greatly increase your chances of conceiving a boy.

* Foods to Conceive a Boy – Bananas! Salty foods, dairy products, and bananas are all said to help gender selection boy efforts. Eating more calories than normal can do it also, and it’s been shown that women who are getting a full supply of all necessary nutrients tend to create more male babies. Be sure to be taking the best prenatal vitamins.

* Caffeine – Right before intercourse, the male partner should drink 1 to 2 cups of caffeinated coffee or a similar beverage. This gives a supercharged boost to the already fast x-sperm, increasing chances for a male-favored conception.

* Adjust Your pH Level – Making sure you have the proper pH levels in your reproductive tract is one of the most important ways to choose the sex of baby. An acidic pH will tend to destroy sperm, with the x-sperm dying off more quickly (remember – they’re faster but not stronger than y-sperm!). This leaves the unwanted condition of higher levels of y-sperm in a man’s semen. So when trying to conceive a baby boy, make certain you’re promoting an alkaline environment by not eating a lot of spicy or acidic foods.

* Boxers or Briefs? – If you’re looking to create a son instead of a daughter, your best bet is boxer shorts. The further from the body the testicles are allowed to hang, the more regulated the temperature of a man’s semen. Keep them in close to the body, as in the case of briefs, and many sperm will die from the higher temperature levels. And since the male sperm die faster than female sperm, this hurts your chances of having a boy.

* Sexual Positioning – Once again, the speed of the individual x and y sperm plays a factor here. The closer the male can deposit semen to the woman’s cervix, the better the chances of an x-sperm reaching the egg first. Therefore, choose positions to conceive a boy during intercourse that allow for the deepest possible penetration. It’s been suggested that the ‘doggie-style’ position is one of the best ways to accomplish this.

* Orgasms During Sex – It’s been proven that if the female partner accomplishes orgasm during sex, two things happen: one, the contractions help move the sperm upward and into the cervix. Two, the endorphins released into the body during orgasm create a more alkaline environment, which we already know is better for male sperm. When trying for a boy, keep this in mind!

Help Your Baby Breastfeed Before It抯 Even Born

揑t hurt.? 揗y baby was too sleepy to nurse.?揑 didn抰 have enough milk.? All are comments new moms make every day when talking about first nursing their babies. And all are challenges that can often be avoided.

A growing body of research reveals profound connections between a woman抯 birth experience and her ability to get breastfeeding off to a good start. Well-known lactation consultant Linda Smith asserts that common obstetrical practices, including medical, technological, and surgical interventions, can create all kinds of problems, involving a baby抯 ability to breath, suck and swallow properly; the mother抯 comfort level, and the ability of a mother and baby to remain together immediately after the birth.

Unfortunately, childbirth and breastfeeding are typically treated as separate and unrelated events. But if you think of putting your baby to your breast as the fourth stage of labor (following dilation, pushing out the baby, and birthing the placenta) it can help you visualize this connection.

The bottom line is, the less intervention you have at birth, the less likely you are to have problems breastfeeding. Of course, your birth may not go as planned. But why make the beginning of your parenting journey extra challenging? After all, you wouldn抰 set out on a vacation driving with a flat tire? And if nursing goes well in the first few days, you抣l be more likely to stick with it. Given that Americans spend an extra 3.6 billion dollars a year to care for babies fed formula, it makes sense to do a little homework ahead of time.

Here are eight things you can do to help your baby ?and you ?get off to the best start possible.

1. Take a childbirth education class and consider looking outside of the hospital to find one. Chose an instructor certified by a national organization (such as Lamaze, Bradley, or International Childbirth Education Association), with the freedom to present accurate and complete information. You want to be empowered to be an active participants throughout your labor, not simply prepared for what to expect in the hospital setting. The more empowered you are during birth, the more empowered you抣l be to nurse.
2. Find out what your practitioner抯 rates are for labor inductions, epidurals, c-sections, and v-bacs (vaginal birth after cesarean) and compare the statistics between hospitals. Then chose the provider and hospital with the lowest rates. Rates for all these procedures have dramatically increased in recent years without a corresponding increase or improvement in birth weight and birth outcomes.
Does this affect breastfeeding? You bet. Epidurals, for example, can make labor less productive, setting into place a cascade of interventions, often culminating in a c-section. As of 2005 the national c-section rate was at an unprecedented high with almost 1 in 3 women giving birth surgically. Studies suggest that women who give birth via c-section are less likely to room-in with their babies and are less likely to be breastfeeding several weeks later. And the less likely you are to be in pain after the birth, the more difficult it will be to focus on the needs of your baby.
3. Ask your provider how they can help you labor comfortably without using drugs. Find out if you can labor (and even birth) in a tub, if you can eat and drink for energy, and what kind of support you will have. Ask to have sporadic instead of continuous fetal monitoring. You will be more able to labor comfortably if you have the freedom to move around and it抯 impossible to do so when you are strapped to a machine. Remember that in most cases, the more gently you are treated, the more gently your baby is treated.

4. Locate a childbirth doula (pronounced DOO-la). Doulas offer emotional and physical support to women and provide various combinations of support before, during and after the birth. Studies show that having a doula at your birth shortens labor, cuts in half the odds of having an unnecessary c-section, and helps women feel more satisfied about their birth. Contact DONA, Doulas of North American at http://www.dona.org. Two other organizations that train doulas are: CAPPA – Childbirth and Postpartum Professional Association (www.cappa.net) and ALACE ?Association of Labor Assistants and Childbirth Educators (www.alace.org).

5. Find out what your hospital抯 post-partum policies are. Immediate skin-to-skin contact and being able to have your baby 搑oom-in?with you increases breastfeeding抯 success. Drying the baby, assigning Apgar scores, and doing the initial assessment typically should be done while your baby is with you. You can also delay having your baby cleaned, weighed, measured and bathed until after he or she has had a chance to nurse.
6. Request, in writing, that your baby be given no supplemental bottles of formula or glucose. Supplemental feedings of formula in the hospital have almost doubled in the past ten years, a practice known to derail nursing.
7. Attend a La Leche League meeting before giving birth, especially if you抳e never been around nursing mothers. Visit http://www.lalecheleague.org or call 847-519-7730.

8. Overall, know your rights as a patient. You have the right to participate in decision-making involving you and your baby and you have the right to know the benefits, risks and hazards of drugs and procedures. Remember: as the authors of 揂 Good Birth, A Safe Birth observe, 揑f you don抰 know your options, you don抰 have any.?/p>

In the end, remember that birth itself is not the end of your journey as a mother. It is a beginning. If you find yourself with an unplanned C-section, a difficult recovery, or nursing challenges of one type or another, help is available. Express your concerns to your doctors, midwife, nurse, or doula. A good lactation consultant can offer especially invaluable help, (look for the credential of IBCLC ?International board certified lactation consultant). In fact, you may want to find one ahead of time. Make that the ninth thing you can do before the birth!

Cute Maternity Clothes – Tips To Look Cute While Pregnant

Your mother’s generation was different. Today, you live in modern times where fashion is the key word where clothing is concerned, even during a pregnancy! Since you desire to look good at all times, you might wish to know where cute maternity clothes can be found!

Before we move forward, may be it would be wise to understand what exactly is meant by cute here. The image conjured up in your mind would be that of something that looks kiddish or makes you look like a baby yourself! True, earlier cute maternity clothes consisted of dresses which were similar to those worn by baby dolls and consisted of floppy bows placed at the neck! They were meant to exhibit the mother-to-be as a small doll herself who would be bringing another boy doll or girl doll into the world!

Today, the definition of cute maternity clothes has entirely changed. There are styles and fashions to suit everyone’s tastes, and they range from downright funky to hippie styles to glamorous haute couture.

Before you run to your computer (since that is the trend now-a-days), ask for help from close relatives such as siblings, maybe a sister-in-law or cousins, even close friends. If these women have undergone pregnancies before, it is very likely that they have just the type of cute maternity clothes that you want stocked in their own wardrobes! After all, all your tastes should prove to be quite similar!

Not interested? Well then, standard clothes in larger sizes are always available; so these should do during the earlier stages of pregnancy. They are more readily available at standard department stores than at special maternity shops. These clothes can be worn even after the delivery of the baby is over.

The maternity consignment stores or resell shops also display cute maternity clothes that have been gently used, but are still fashionable enough to be worn.
