Tips on Giving Away Old Baby Clothes

Ever-engaged mothers eternally look for options to simplify their daily activities. It is not easy getting rid of outgrown clothes along with all of the other things your family, house, and job demands of you. An easy way of ridding yourself of baby clothes that your kids have outgrown organized is to use three boxes.

To begin with, it is of prime importance that the boxes are labeled, so that it is clear what should go in which box. It will help a lot to write something on the boxes that make them identifiable. Be sure to write the words “little Johnny’s outgrown baby clothes” on them. One box should be labeled as “give away”. Make sure you have the word “sell” written on a separate box. Now, on the final box, write the words “To be tossed”. Use that throwaway box for your clothing items which cannot be fixed or have stains on them, but donate other clothing.

Those old baby clothes should be organized now! Go through the collection of clothes quickly. First instincts are mostly right anytime. Place each item in a logical box or bin. Check to see if the clothes are new and have not been worn. Consigning them to the “sell” list would be a fine option. If they are no longer going to be worn, but are still in decent shape, then these are the clothes for the “donation” box. Is that a big yogurt stain on that bib? Just put it directly into the ‘”to be tossed” box. Throw out the last box, putting it next to the trash and recycling bins. Instead of discarding away all those clothes to the garbage dump, it is quite likely that somebody might find them worth using and might pick up the box they are put in. They may even have a use for them for pets’ bedding etc.

After the separating is finished, you should take the boxes or bins into the garage or car. If a certain person can utilize the “free” box, just bring it directly to them. If that isn’t the case, then it’s time for you and the box to take a trip down to your neighborhood thrift store. You should immediately begin trying to get rid of your “sell items” on web sites or trading spots in your area. There are consignment stores in some towns where you can sell your old baby clothes. Those stores have two options of either store credit or cash against clothes brought in by the moms. For trash day put the “throw away” box out at your curb. If you want to get rid of some items, place them into a box labeled “free” and it will soon be taken.

Choosing Baby Clothes – How Do You Know What to Buy and How Much to Spend?

Buying Baby Clothes can be either a huge amount of fun or a nightmare, depending on your budget. Lets face it, babies grow so fast that clothing can really chew up the dollars. You can really go wild and buy up big if you’re not careful. Its very easy to get totally swept away shopping while you’re still pregnant. Chances are that if this is your first baby, you will almost certainly buy things that you don’t need or don’t suit your needs.

If you don’t know the gender of your baby, it would probably be a good idea not to go on too much of a spending spree, just in case you do happen to buy the wrong color garment. If you really want to buy baby clothes but don’t know your baby’s gender, mint and lemon are great colors to buy in this instance.

Although it can be very tempting, I believe it to be a good idea to only buy what is necessary for the baby for the first couple of weeks, then you will have a much better idea of exactly what you will need.

So what are the vital clothing necessities you’ll need?

1. Layettes or Footies (for sleeping)
2. Rompers (for daywear)
3. Singlets
4. baby socks
5. hats & jackets (if its cooler weather)
6. Diapers – choose whether you will be using disposable or cloth (you will need up to a dozen per day)

Try to buy at least 6 – 10 of each and a couple of hats and jackets. You would be surprised at how much mess such a little thing can make. This is all dependent upon how frequently you wash, I would suggest getting enough garments to last for a few days, just in case you don’t get the time to wash daily – you won’t believe how your day will fly.

Baby Clothes Buying Guide for Dads

Looking after young child involves managing a variety of tasks; one of the more pleasurable among these is buying baby clothes. However, shopping for children’s clothes requires careful thought. While selecting baby clothes, always check whether they are:

?b>Functional: Obviously, looks will play a big role in the baby clothes you pick up. However, always keep practicalities in mind too. Select baby clothes that are easy to put on and take off. This is especially important in young children who will require frequent diaper changing. As a dad, beware of pants and outfits that require a lot of snaps and buttons. Moms have patience for these added nuisances. Dads will often just leave them undone because no one will notice anyway.

?b>Comfortable: Numerous fashionable accessories may make your child look adorable. However, in the wrong places, they may be uncomfortable, and could even hurt your child. While picking up baby clothes consider how buttons, ribbons, and other attachments might irritate your baby and avoid buying these.

?b>Weather-appropriate: Keep seasonal conditions in mind while buying your baby’s clothes. There is no point smothering your baby in woolens during hot weather, or buying skimpy dresses for winter wear. In areas with wide variations in temperature, moms spend a lot of time organizing baby clothes inventory around the growth of the baby and the approaching season.

?b>Alterable: Young children outgrow their clothes very quickly. This means that you may have to routinely discard perfectly good baby clothes that have hardly been worn. Instead, it may be better to buy baby clothes that are a little bigger, or can be easily altered, so that they can last your child a little longer. This is a practical solution and will save your time, effort, and money.

Get New Clothes For Your Baby

The popularity for baby clothes has created and entirely new market for children clothing, clothes are now not the traditional blue for boys and pink for girls, they are much more advanced and the trend has spread to baby accessories like hats, caps, bibs and a lot of these clothes have funny messages. Babies are growing; you are unlikely to get as much use out of this clothing as you would an adult.

Baby clothes do not last long because they wear out, or because your baby quickly grows out of them. As a proud new parent buying baby clothes is sometimes confusing, your baby needs three basic types of clothes: pay clothes, sleep clothes, and dressier clothes for going out.

Today you can choose any colors you like for your children, girls don抰 need to wear pink and boys don抰 need to wear blue, there are so many colors and shades of colors that it is ok to mix and match. Most first time parents get a shock when at about fourteen months their darling decides they don抰 want to wear clothes.

When a baby is going to cold weather the baby does not have the capability to control his or her body temperature so you need to dress your baby appropriately for winter so your baby does not get cold. When parents are shopping for baby clothing they don抰 have to worry if a baby clothing store is close to them, with today technology and the invention of the internet parents can shop online and have the clothing delivered right to their door. In today抯 world parents are more concerned about how their children look in clothes because it is a reflection on them. Today抯 trendy parents want trendier babies dressed in clothes that make a statement.

Online stores supply baby clothing sometimes for a lot less than the brick and mortar stores, they also carry unique clothing that you cannot find anywhere else accept in boutique stores. Today most online site carry the designer baby clothes and most of them sell the clothing for a discount compared to stores.

Many grandparents and relatives find it very difficult to purchase baby clothes. If you are expecting a baby in the next few months, the chances are you will have started planning for some of her important things, if not doing them and buying them already. When you are starting out it is so easy to get distracted from what your baby needs and start buying baby clothes just on how they look.

You might even check garage sales and local thrift stores for gently used basics. Many large department stores offer a clothing section for babies, as they are high demand items. How many of us have spent countless hours trudging around the high street stores looking for stuff.

While we all want to dress our babies in clothes that are cute, stylish and fit well, we sometimes overlook the most basic element — how will these feel against my baby抯 skin. Keep to the rule, buy your baby clothes with comfort and practicality in mind and keep the cute dress for special occasions. As the child grows older they will love to use their own clothes for their dolls to play dress up.

Buying Baby Clothes – Selecting Colors

Gone are the days when baby girls used to be dressed up in pinks and baby boys were seen in blues only. Though it seems odder when a boy wears pink than a girl wearing blue, you can decide colors that suit your baby from an array of beautiful baby colors available in the market while buying baby clothes.

For babies, pastel colors are always in. These days a wide range of “baby colors” are present in the market. For baby boys, besides baby blue and navy blue, you can go for grey, beige, green, rust, and some nice earthy tones. For girls colors like baby pink, peach, lilac, yellow, orange and red seem very nice. There are some neutral colors like cream, pale green, yellow and white that looks good on baby boys as well as girls. Furthermore, if you are shopping for your unborn baby and you do not know the gender, you can go for these neutral colors.

Baby clothes with small checks also look very trendy. A baby boy wearing a checker shirt or a girl wearing a tiny checker skirt looks very cute. You can also choose polka dots for your baby girl as polka dots always look chic.

While buying baby socks, you can either buy a packet with different colors of little socks that can go with different dresses that your baby wears. Buying them in bulk will save you money, as the socks will cost you more when you buy each pair separately. You can also save money and buy a couple of socks like a few pairs of white and multicolor socks can go with any outfit your baby wears. It is advisable to always have a baby pink sock if you have a baby girl and a blue one if you have a baby boy – this is because your baby will wear this color more often than any other color.

How to Choose a Great Baby Name

My wife recently gave birth to our first child. We were very excited when we found out that she was pregnant, and we were ready to start our family. We began preparing early for our son, decorating the nursery, buying baby clothes, and reading baby books. However, one of the most important things that we did to prepare for our son抯 birth was choosing a baby name.

Your baby抯 name will be with them forever. Your child can be teased, or picked on their entire life depending on the name that you give them. Many names carry great meaning, but they could bring turmoil throughout your child抯 life if they are teased. Although a name can cause teasing, it can also give a child character, and may even lead to greatness. Do you think that Dick Butkus would have been a Hall of Fame middle linebacker if his name were John Smith?

My wife looked through a large book of baby names, and secretly wrote down the names for a boy and a girl that she liked. Then she asked me to go through the same book and write down the names that I liked without letting her know which baby names I had chosen. After I was finished with my list my wife revealed her list and we looked for names that we had in common. Amazingly enough we had almost one third of our lists in common. We knew that this short list of baby names would contain the name that we would ultimately choose. The best thing to do after this is to look at the meanings of all of the names that are on the short list to help decide which name has the best meaning for your child. You also want to pronounce your baby抯 name with your last name, and also with their middle name, if you are going to give them one. Usually at least half of the list that is left does not have a meaning that you like, or does not sound good with their middle or last name, so you can mark them off of the list. After all of these tips have been used, you have the hard decision of choosing a baby name. Just remember this will be much easier than the first six weeks after your baby is born, and you have all of those sleepless nights.

Baby Clothes – Intelligent Thinking While Buying Baby Clothes

It is a dream of every parent to dress their baby in the best possible outfit, making sure their baby looks cuter than a bunny! However, these parents think that one can only dress one’s baby well when one has a large budget dedicated to shopping. This is not true. You can shop well in a limited budget if you shop wisely. No doubt when we talk about buying baby clothes, it is not just the clothes we are talking about. There is a huge and almost never ending list of clothing items like shirts, pajamas, socks, hats, mittens, sweaters, bodysuits, etc that our baby needs to wear in different seasons and occasions.

Always buy a couple of nice presentable baby clothes that your baby can wear outdoors and make sure you do not put them on your baby at home. This will prevent any sort of stains and rough usage of these clothes. For home, you do not need to buy expensive or designer clothes for your babies. Make sure what your baby wears is comfortable and of breathable material. You can even use your elder child’s pass on clothes that are in wearable condition. If this is your first baby, you can take special care of his/ her nice and expensive clothes, and then put them in a safe place for your next baby.

Sales are very helpful in buying nice clothes at reasonable prices. If you are buying a summer baby outfit on sale in the winter season, make sure you have a margin in your mind regarding the size of your baby in the summer season, and vice versa. Always buy clothes that have a little margin, else, your baby will outgrow them within a month or so. If you are not sure about the size of a certain clothing item for your baby, go for the larger size as your baby will eventually end up wearing it. You should avoid too much fitted and tight clothing on your baby as your baby would not feel comfortable in it, and it is not good to put baby in too much fitted clothes in these growing years.

Preserving Clothing with Baby Bibs

Baby Bibs are what many parents think by far one of the best inventions for baby. They can be save parents a lot of money with the damages that will be saved from protecting the baby clothes with the bib. Many parents will use a bib on their child to help prevent accidents on their clothing. When babies drink from a bottle, eat baby food, or are teething, they can often make quite a mess on themselves. With a bib, the accidents will spill onto the bib itself, preventing permanent stains from occurring on the child抯 clothing. Since babies especially can be very messy eaters, a bib can be a parent抯 best friend.

There are different Baby Bibs that can be purchased. There are styles such as vinyl, where the food will slide off, and typically into a pocket at the bottom of the bib. The pocket will hold the food and drink at the bottom of the bib until it is cleaned up. Other bibs are created of cloth, and act as an absorbent for the liquids that are spilled on the bib. Bibs can be of great aid to help maintain the condition of the clothing.

Baby Bibs are indeed an item that every parent should have. They can keep not only the clothing, but the child clean. They are great gifts to give away, as they often come in lots of 3 or more. Every baby can benefit from using a bib.

Choosing Baby Clothes

Baby clothes’ selection is no longer as limited as it used to be. Nowadays, people can choose from a huge variety of clothes with numerous designs. Babies are already fashionable long before they even know how to dress themselves. The funny thing is that parents and grandparents are the ones enjoying the fashion show. Parents like to see their children donning cute outfits or even outfits that mimic adults. Some lines of baby clothing go as far as following adult trends for their pieces.

The one thing that sets baby clothing apart from clothes for older kids is the manner of putting them on. As babies need to get dressed often, it is understandable that changing their clothes should be as easy as possible. The newborns’ clothes should be equipped with all the elements for easy manageability. Baby clothes should have easy buttons, ties and snaps to make thing simpler for parents and caregivers. Baby rompers are an example of the type of garment with these features. Rompers or one-pieces have been designed with these features not as an embellishment but for functional reasons. The snaps in the crotch area of a baby romper ensures that parents can easily change the baby’s diapers as needed.

Other features of newborn clothes that make parents’ lives easier include Velcro, garters, baby-friendly snaps, and easy buttons. As a safety concern, most high quality baby clothes are made with hypoallergenic material. Absorptive clothes are also made to absorb liquids that may cause babies to develop a rash.

Special materials are not used in lower quality baby clothing. Some clothes are made with any kind of textile even though it may be scratchy and uncomfortable for your baby. Make sure to check this out!

Baby clothing designers also come up with cute and charming designs for the joy of the whole family. Baby clothes can be designed in many different ways. Statement shirts seem to get a lot of fans with their fun and witty prints such as “baby is the new black” or “Chicks think I’m irresistible”.

The cost of infant clothing varies greatly. There are times when designer baby clothes are even more expensive than adult clothes. Those who do not wish to spend so much for baby clothes have other options (honestly the baby will only be wearing the clothes for a couple of months, maximum!). Find a happy medium where the clothes are high quality and cute, but not expensive.

Mandi thinks that baby rompers are the most practical gift for newborns. . She especially likes this selection of cute baby girl clothes.

Buying Baby Clothes on a Budget

If your spouse is pregnant, this is the best time to start making a list of all the items your new baby will need. On top of the list is, of course, clothes for your baby. Here are some tips on getting good deals on baby clothes.

Tip 1: Hand-me-downs

Babies grow extremely fast and tend to outgrow their clothes in no time. If a close relative or friend has a child only slightly older than yours and has some baby clothes to pass on, go ahead and accept them. In all likelihood, the clothes have only been used a couple of times and will be as good as new. The best part of hand-me-downs? They don’t cost a cent.

Tip 2: Unused baby shower gifts

Baby clothes are a common gift given at baby showers. Often, women receive more clothes than their baby will ever use, which are either given away or sold cheap. The best way to spot these baby clothes is to scout around yard sales and look for clothing with the tags still attached.

Tip 3: End of season sales

Buying baby clothes during season-ending sales is a great way to save money on baby clothes, especially if you are partial to branded clothes. The key here is to plan your shopping well in advance. For example, if your spouse is due in summer, you can purchase winter clothes from newborn to 6 months during the previous winter end sale.

Tip 4: Reuse old clothes.

Since your baby is growing really fast, use your creativity and reuse old clothes to make new ones. For example, if your baby has outgrown his or her trousers, cut them to make shorts. Jackets whose sleeves are too short can become waistcoats if you cut the sleeves off.

Looking after young child involves managing a variety of tasks; one of the more pleasurable among these is buying baby clothes. However, shopping for children’s clothes requires careful thought. Find out more tips while selecting baby clothes.
