Affordable but Memorable Christmas Presents for Your Loved Ones

Christmas is the most awaited time of the year where you have every excuse to splurge on shopping gifts for yourself, your fiends and your loved ones. If buying expensive gifts is not within your budget range but you still want to give presents to your friends and loved ones, there are a lot of cheap Christmas presents that you can buy.

Your gift may not cost a lot in terms of money, but its true worth comes with the time that you spent thinking of something that you think the person would love, instead of just wrapping gifts in random.

Here is a list of some cheap Christmas presents that you can give to your friends and loved ones to make the Holiday season even more special:

1. Baked and cooked goodies.

You can dig up some old family recipes and prepare a special sauce, cook pasta or a special dish, or bake some fruitcake, cookies and other Christmas goodies that can be enjoyed by the young and old alike. Your kitchen should be stocked with food so just open the refrigerator and you are bound to find something special that you can cook and give to your loved ones ?this makes for a cheap yet delicious Christmas present.

2. Handmade items, arts and crafts.

If you know how to knit or sew a good stitch, you can knit a cap, shirt, sweater or any item to give as a cheap but nice Christmas present for any of your loved ones. The ‘labor of love’ that comes with making such a personal item will make your gift even more wonderful.

If you love to sketch or paint, you can put together a framed picture that painted yourself, or a handmade Christmas card or a handicraft item. The possibilities are endless, as long as you put in your talent and a little imagination in making the perfect present to give during the Holidays.

3. Personalized gift items.

Buy a plain old mug or wine glass from a thrift store. Then, spray paint or stencil in a personalized Christmas message for the recipient of your gift, including the name. Wrap it in a cheerful Christmas wrapper and voila ?you have an affordable yet very personal gift item to give!

4. Use your desktop or laptop computer to print out a special Christmas present.

Save a picture from the Myspace profile of all of your special friends, then print them and have them made into one of those cute buttons, or buy a classic-looking picture frame from a discount store. Insert a personalized Christmas message to make a great Holiday present.

If your friend or relative is a writer, or an executive, pull up your Photoshop program and make a mock magazine cover with your friend’s picture in it. Add in funny headlines, then print the page and frame it to make for a cute and memorable Christmas gift.

Even with a small budget or no budget at all, you can just let your imagination run wild and you can surely come up with cheap Christmas presents to give your loved ones during the Holiday season. It is, after all, the season of giving ?and the people to whom you will give the gift to will appreciate it more if your Christmas present for them is something personal that suits their taste and personality.

Christmas Traditions – Why it is Vital to Keep the Child Inside All of Us Alive

The innocence ends for all of us eventually, and for some that time comes at unfortunately a very young age. Sometimes sickness, familial conflicts, or a multitude of other negative forces take hold of what should be a glorious time of our lives, our childhood. However, no matter what our age, nor our background, it is never too late to turn our gaze towards the youth of our world, try to see the world through their young and innocent eyes, and either relive through them or live for the first time the joy that each year’s Christmas season should bring.

Our children do grow up fast, and because of that certainty of life, it is essential that we help them celebrate in this uncertain world, their whimsical fantasies of youth and enjoy their childhood the way God intended. With the innocence and exuberance for life that only a child is capable of.

Sometimes it takes having our own children to revive that same exuberance that we remember feeling at a young age. When my father passed away just two days prior to Christmas day when I was but a mere 11 years of age, I became numb to the well wishers and helpful humanitarians that came to the aid of our spirit zapped family. Yet to this day, I cannot and hope to never forget with each passing year, the long lasting importance of what they did for us. Whether it was bringing a freshly prepared meal for us to eat, or a kindly wrapped present in the absence of any, their thoughtfulness will always be appreciated.

It was many years before I was able to feel the same joy and exuberance from the Christmas traditions of my early youth, but eventually it did return, and with even greater intensity as I was able to welcome my own two beautiful children in to our world. The importance of them being able to feel the same excitement that I was fortunate to experience was not only important, but essential.

That is why I implore anyone who feels the same rush of excitement that a child feels during Christmas to consider volunteering your time where possible to a worthy children’s charity or organization for those less fortunate. No child should ever be deprived of their right to celebrate the same Christmas traditions that are afforded the more fortunate. You might be surprised at how just a few minutes out of a day can go a long way towards bringing happiness to a less fortunate child. They may not thank you now, but it will have a long lasting impact on their lives, and they will most likely want to repeat the kindness for someone else less fortunate later in their own life.

So, I beseech all of us to try and see the world through child-like eyes, and give back to those youth of the world who are maybe not in a position to celebrate the Christmas season the way it should be. By keeping the child inside of us alive, we are in a great position to help out wherever possible.
