Fairly Odd Parents Party Games

These two fairly odd parents?party games will help your guest have a great time at the next party you throw, whether it be a birthday or just a plain fun day.

The first game is a fairly odd one indeed called, 慍onductor? Billy has one of the Fairly Odd Parent抯 wands and decides to be his own symphony conductor. Pick one person to play the conductor and have the rest of the kids sit in chairs around him/her. The conductor will clap time either slow or fast for the music and as he/she points at one of the players with the imaginary wand will yell the name of an instrument and that player must immediately start playing an imaginary instrument and making the noises that go with it. This person keeps playing and the conductor points at other players to get them started playing imaginary instruments. The point is to try and get everyone playing an imaginary instrument and playing it slow or fast.

The conductor can also make someone stop playing just by pointing at them again with the imaginary wand belonging to the Fairly Odd Parents. If you fail to notice the conductor pointing at you, you must drop out of the game.

The next game is called 憌ish list? It抯 a fun writing and guessing game for the kids to play when the adults have gotten tired out. Give everyone a piece of paper and pencil and have them write down 10 things they would wish for if they had Fairly Odd Parents. Then have them all put their names at the bottoms of the lists and pass them in to you. Read the lists one by one and have the players try and guess who wrote the list. You can have them write the name down quietly or just yell it out as the name comes to them. Those with the most guesses get a special treat.

Star Wars Galaxy Party Plan

A Star Wars party is a classic – it keeps getting bigger and better with age! From age 5 – 50 every little boy wants to have a Star Wars party at some time! So roll up your sleeves and Let the force be with you…

Invitations: You can make your own invitations on black card stock paper. Write with a white gel pen or use your computer to help you using this script – “A LONG TIME AGO IN A GALAXY FAR AWAY A BOY OF DESTINY WAS BORN” “THIS YOUNG JEDI WILL CELEBRATE HIS BIRTHDAY IN A GALAXY NEAR YOU…” A really cool site that has a free download of the the font used in the introduction of the Star Wars movies is galaxyfaraway.com. This site also has free Star Wars music and movie audio clips. Another great site is the official Star Wars website http://www.starwars.com which leads to my next invitation idea. Go to the “Kids” section and then type in the search box “Halloween Masks.” What you will find is a variety of printable character masks. Choose one or several of the masks to use as your base for the invitation. Follow the printing instructions and assemble as required. Attach the party details with a request to wear the mask attached to the string or place the 2 items in a large envelop. Mark the envelope TOP SECRET and seal with a Star Wars sticker. You can choose to print the full coloured masks or opt to use black and white and have the kids colour them in for the party – a colouring contest of sorts. Either way – Very Cool!

Decorations: The party table can be adorned with licensed Star Wars tableware and decorations. Other tables like the food table and gift table can be dressed up with black tablecovers, lime green moon rocks(to follow) and those plastic glow in the dark stars that can be found at any dollar store. Put out your child’s Star Wars toys and figures around the room for both decoration and play. Give your area an Outer Space feel. Cut out stars from heavy stock tin foil and hang from ceiling with fishing wire. Decorate your walls with funky looking planets made from coloured construction paper with silver & gold glitter to make them look out of this world! Hang posters and pictures of your childs favourite characters. Gather a bunch of ordinary rocks of all shapes and sizes, paint them lime green and place all around party area to resemble moon rocks. And Finally, you can’t forget the asteroids. Asteroids can made with pieces of styrofoam cut to shape and painted or by hanging brown, tan or gold balloons from the ceiling with fishing wire. Be sure to draw lots of cracks and crevices on the balloons with a black sharpie before blowing up. In keeping with the licensed partyware, stick with colours like red, orange, black and metallics for the balloons, streamers and any additional decorations.

Crafts: Make your own Light Saber. This is a pretty easy craft if you do not mind some pre-party planning. All you need are pool noodles believe it or not. Cut a full length in half giving you 2 Sabers. Because they are so wide you will need to carve in a handle with an exacto knife. Make T shaped cuts 4 inches in and 1 inch deep all around one end and then very carefully remove the pieces. The handle does not have to be perfectly smooth because on party day it will be up to the kids to choose their colour, decorates the shaft with multi coloured markers and wrap their handles with coloured electrical or hockey tape to give their Light Saber a good grip. Make sure their names are written on their creation! If you have a crafty bunch, set up a table where they can build their very own planet. The supplies needed are Styrofoam balls, paint and brushes, glue and some decorations like glitter, beads and sequins. First have them paint their planets. During drying time have them name their planets by taking the first 4 letters of their first name and the last 4 letters of their last name and placing them together. What would yours be? My son’s would be Sethbald! Have them write their planets name on small pieces of paper and then staple on to a toothpick. Now its time to embellish the planets with decorations of their choice. When all is dry and they are off to the next adventure, be sure to push the toothpick into the Styrofoam and attach a piece of fishing wire with a thumbtack so the guests can hang their very own planet in their very own room!

Games: Now that each child has their very own light saber, play “Keep Up The Meteor.” Tell guests that the evil Darth Vador has set off a meteor shower to destroy planet earth and it is their duty to to prevent the meteors from hitting earth. The prep for this is simple; blow up a bunch of balloons, turn on the Star Wars soundtrack and have the kids form a circle. Start with one balloon, and then another and another until you have thrown in 1 balloon for each kid. If they can keep up just 1 balloon for the length of a song or a timer set to 3 minutes – they will save the Earth! A really fun thing to do is have an adult dress up as Vader with a mask, cape and light saber. Have the young Jedi Knights battle Darth Vador with their very own light sabers. It may get a little rowdy but the kids will love it! If you have an older group, Star Wars trivia is always a big hit but if the group is a bit younger try playing “Shapeshifting.” Shapeshifters are dark side creatures that can change into different forms or characters. You will need – Star Wars music and 2 large bag filled with funny clothes, costumes and accessories. Gather the guests around in a circle, turn on the music and ask the kids to pass the bags around. The players holding the bags when the music stops must reach in, pull out an item and put it on. Game ends when all items are gone. Very silly and very funny! “Galaxy Hunt” – The villanous Darth Vador has stolen all the Galaxies treasure and hidden them within Star Clusters scattered around the Galaxy. It is up to each young Jedi to search and find 5 star clusters and report back to mission central. If even 1 Jedi is unable to complete his mission it is up to all young Jedi’s to help out their fellow trainee. When all missions are complete the Star Clusters may be opened to reveal their treasure. The Prep for this game is to wrap different pieces of candy with tin foil making odd shaped balls. Hide around the “hunt area” only 5 clusters for every player. Make it a little difficult – you want the young Jedi’s to have to work for their treasure! A good idea is to give each child a loot bag with their name on it to hold their treasures when they return to mission central.

Lootbags: If you have played the Galaxy Hunt its likely you already have a bag filled with candy. Complete the guest loot bags by throwing in some Glow Sticks, Pop Rocks, Silly Putty, Glow in the Dark Stars and some Star Wars favors. Ebay is a great place to find large lots of Star Wars favors and trinkets at really reasonable prices. Finish off the loot bags with a Jedi Knight certificate letting the guests know the have passed their training and completed all their missions. A free printable certificate like the one shown on the left can be found at the website 123certficates.com in the “sci-fi” section. You can easily dress it up by printing it on blue paper and filling in the symbol with colour and silver glitter.

Baby on Board Shower Party Ideas

Everyone loves a baby! Even more fun is the anticipation of the birth, even if the sex is known. To plan your Baby Shower, decide if you will be needing pink, blue or a non-gender color like green or yellow for your decorations. The color can coordinate with another theme, or strictly be left on its own.

Baby showers require invitations. The party supply planning store will have many different styles to choose from. They can belong to a theme or be a plain one you pick out, or even a postcard format. What抯 important is the date, time and where the expectant mother is registered at.

There are a ton of games to play at a baby shower. Whether the sex is known or not, make a copy of the ultrasound picture for every guest. They can play two games with the pictures: name the baby and guess the baby抯 sex, weight and length. Their guesses can all be recorded into a book for use after baby is born to determine a winner! They can keep the picture as a momento and put in a frame if they like.

Other fun games to play include taste testing baby food. Remove all of the labels off and have everyone taste a sample and try to name it. Another thinking games involves trivia. Pick TV shows from the past and present and have them list all of the children from each show.

Favors for all of the games can include candles, lotions or craft items. Decorations can be minimal or cover the entire room or house in your chosen color. Balloons, streamers and wall hangings can be used in a house, church hall or restaurant private room. If you are serving food, a party supply store will have all of the necessary paper products and utensils for easy clean up.

Easy and Inexpensive Halloween Costume Ideas for Kids and Adults

Everywhere you look Halloween is in the air, and stores! Here are several easy and inexpensive Halloween costume ideas that you can make at the last minute. Kids and adults will love getting into the spirit of the holiday with dressing up as a pirate, gypsy, wizard, and a racecar driver.

These costume ideas are not expensive if you hunt for costume items at your local second hand store. And you are helping your local charity at the same time! Besides finding great clothing for your costume, you can get great accessories such as old boots, beads and costume jewelry, scarves, belts, etc. also.

A Pirate costume can be made easily with dark colored pants that are torn up to just below the knee. Commercial pirate costumes show black & white striped shirts, but pirates more commonly wore clothing they could obtain from their victims. So any solid colored shirt with long sleeves and a collar will work. If the weather is cold, add an overcoat to the effect. Black or brown boots or shoes, red bandanas or scarves, and lots of costume jewelry finish off the costume.

A gypsy costume is one of the quickest ones to put together. Obtain peasant-like clothing you can find such as full skirts, blouses or shirts with billowing sleeves, lots of scarves and costume jewelry. Layer large scarves over the skirt and shirt, and tie a scarf around the head. If you have a tambourine, carry it or hang it from a belt add to the gypsy costume.

A wizard costume is another easy Halloween costume idea! A high school or college graduation robe in black or blue works great for the wizard抯 robe. Glue on silver or white stars cut from felt or foam and any trim or braid you may have lying around. Make a wizard hat from a 15?cone made from black or blue poster board and cover with more stars. Attach to the head with bobby pins. Make a wizard抯 staff from a 4-5 foot dowel (length depends on the height of the wizard) found at the local hardware store. Secure on top of the pole a plastic ball decorated with ribbons and bells.

A Racecar Driver will be a popular costume idea this year due to the popular movies Cars and Talladega Nights. Begin with one-piece overalls that painters or construction workers wear. If you cannot find patches to glue on the suit, make them from felt. A good supplier for patches is an Army-Navy Surplus Store. A motorcycle helmet from the second-hand will finish off the look of this costume idea.

The Halloween costume ideas listed above can be finished off with a little Halloween makeup. Using white, black, blue, brown and green colors will enhance the costumes and add to the dramatic effect of the character you抳e chosen to become. Ordinary everyday makeup will work just as well as the packaged Halloween makeup. Or you can make your own smooth, thin makeup by blending one part cornstarch and two parts shortening with enough drops of food coloring to produce the appropriate shade. Use a green tint for the wizard or a brown for the pirate to give him or her the look of being out to sea too long.

Have fun with these Halloween costume ideas and let your imagination run wild!

Baby Shower Invitation to Match Your Theme

If there is a predetermined theme for a baby shower you are hosting it may prove difficult to find a baby shower invitation to match your theme. That doesn’t mean it is impossible. In fact, there is no written rule that states the invitation must be an exact match to the party theme. Quite the opposite is true. You are fairly free to choose whatever theme for the invitations as you would like.

That being said it is possible to loosely match baby shower invitation to party themes without compromising either or loosing the spirit of the party. Of course this is only necessary when you are trying to find invites for a completely obscure baby shower theme.

Before the renewal of popularity Curious George has recently achieved it may have been possible to find either decorations or baby shower invitations to match this particular theme though it may have been difficult to find one both. This is where you could get creative and use a jungle theme that includes monkeys or some other popular childhood book character.

The real challenge lies not in matching an existing theme but in creating a theme that is new and different. Whether you are looking for an invite that haven’t been completely overdone or you are hoping for an original theme idea to come along it is important to remember that creativity and flexibility are the keys to pulling off an incredible shower.

If a theme proves too troublesome for you there is no harm in asking if it can be changed or if suggestions for a baby shower invitation can be made. You never know what can happen when you step up and ask for assistance or guidance. It should never be the most stressful task you perform when planning a baby shower.

Betty Boop Party Games

The Betty Boop party needs a couple of games that work for both the younger audience and the adult party.

For the first game we suggest for a Betty Boop party is a fun and easy, well maybe not so easy attempt at making a Pyramid. You抣l need at least six players. This game gets goofier with older players and the more players at the party. You can only usually get about maximum a twenty one person pyramid going before those on the bottom start getting really squished.

Remember when organizing the pyramid you should put the largest people on the bottom to act as the support. As the pyramid gets higher you抣l put smaller and smaller people on until the lightest person is placed on the top. You can call the lightest person, Betty Boop, to fit the party theme.

To make the pyramid a little easier to handle have everyone lie down instead of getting on their hands and knees. So for a pyramid of six people the bottom row of three people would lie on the grass, then the second row of two people would lie on top the three person base and the lightest top person would lie on top of the second row. Make sure you have enough room for a pyramid at the Betty Boop party to limit chances of accident.

The next game for the Betty Boop Party is a fun word game called, 慖nitial Answers? You can assign personas to each of the guests if you like that correspond with some of the old time cartoon characters that starred with Betty Boop or just let guests use their own name. You start by asking the guests one at a time a simple question like, 揥hat is your favorite food?? The guest has to answer with two words that begin with their intials. So Bob Deel might answer, 態oysenberry Donuts.?/p>

If a player messes up or takes longer than five seconds to answer they become the question asker for the next round.

Pink Poodle Party Supplies & Party Planning Ideas

Lets take a trip to Paris, France and celebrate the Parisian style and all things French! Here are some great ideas on how to turn an ordinary Pink Poodle theme into an extraordinary Pink Poodle in Paris event!

Invitations: Using clipart of poodles, the Eiffel tower or Parisian Girls wearing berets, type out on your computer on white paper and this script: OOh-La-Laa! Tres Magnifique! Le Birthday Party pour Mademoiselle ________. Cut out the script using fancy edged scissors and paste onto a half sheet of pink card stock. Finish off with a black bow by punching 2 holes in the top middle of the cardstock, guiding the ribbon through the holes and tying a little bow. Another unique idea would be to send an invite in the shape and fashion as a plane ticket to Paris! Or why not visit you local dollar store or souvenir shop and purchase some Paris postcards and write all of the party details on the back. Whichever you choose, do not be afraid to glam them up with sparkles, glitters and bows!

Decorations: Pink, Black and White everything and don’t forget the Pink Poodle tableware and supplies to really set the theme! Use helium balloons on the mailbox, in doorways, on chairs, as centerpieces, on vases, floating freely and pretty much anywhere you can tie a balloon onto. Decorate your ceiling by finding the center point or a light fixture and attaching 12-14 twisted black and pink streamer lengths to it. Floating them out a good 2 feet apart and attach them to the corner edges of the ceiling. Decorate your walls with enlarged images of the Eiffel Tower, Pink Poodles, Berets, Eiffel Tower, Mimes or any symbols of France you can think of. Hang France Travel Posters, postcards and cutouts from high fashion magazines. The table setting must be Sparkly, Fabulous and Tres Chic! Start with a black tablecover to make the pink poodle tableware pop and spread white or opalescent sparkles or gems on the table to look like diamonds. Have 2 or 3 vases filled with white roses and adorned with a black bow to use as your centerpieces. Finish off by tying a pink tulle fabric bow onto each chair. This will surely set a very elegant mood.

Activities: As the party guests arrive, invite each on of them to be a French artist. Provide a table or area with colouring tools, different papers, template pages of poodles, cotton balls ribbons, sequins, felt and glue.

Ask them to create a picture of a Pink Poodle by colouring the page in or decorating the outline with the craft supplies provided. Another craft idea is to make a very fashionable fancy choker collar that the guests can take home and wear. Use a heavy stock ribbon or craft foam in black or pink and cut to size to fit each child’s neck about 1.5 inches wide. You want it snug – but not tight! Attach a piece of self stick velcro to each end of the strip and let the girls decorate with gems, jewels, sequins, beads and glitter. When completed the party guests will look Tres Magnifigue! Give a short French lesson for the guests to learn a few basic words and phrases so that they may use them throughout the party. For example: Bonjour (Hello), Merci (Thank you), Au Revoir (Good Bye), Joyeux Anniversaire (Happy Birthday), Tres Chic (Very Stylish) and Sil Vous Plait (Please) and many more! Another idea along this line is to place conversation cards around the party room and table. Have the phrases and questions written in French and translated into English underneath. The guests will have a good laugh trying to pronounce the French version aloud! Have them answer or comment in English but ask them to use at least one French word they learned.

And Finally, hold a French couture fashion show. Visit your local Good Will store, your closet, your mom’s, grandmom’s and friends closet’s too and collect hats, scarves, boas, gloves, purses, shoes and costume jewelry. Have a large selection so each girl can choose 3 or 4 items each. Divide the guests into 2 groups with one group displaying their creations on the runway and the other kids in the audience enjoying the show. Be sure to have one adult in the dressing area helping and plenty of music playing so the girls can model and strut along to.

Menu: A Bistro Menu should consist of the following: Miniature croissants filled with turkey/lettuce/cream cheese, Finger Sandwiches cut out with a bone shaped cookie cutter, Fromage (cheeses), Crudite (Veggies & Dip), Pastries, Melon Ball Salad, Chocolate Dipped Strawberries and French Crepes filled with whip cream and sliced berries. Serve all food in your best china and on silver trays. The beverage of choice is pink lemonade or for a more fancy treat, serve French Sodas. A French Soda is simply 7up with grenadine to taste, topped with whip cream and a cherry and served in a wine glass. The French Crepes could be used as the birthday dessert or if you want something more traditional go for cupcakes or a full cake covered with white icing, pink polka dots (gumballs) and black fabric bows around the edges. Top with a few poodle candles and Voila! A perfectly decorated dessert!
