Wiggle Your Way to a Great Party with a Kids Wiggles Theme Birthday Celebration!

The Wiggles are known the world over for their brightly colored outfits and catchy tunes. Their show is geared toward younger kids and makes for an outstanding birthday party theme for little children. The sounds of Greg, Jeff, Murray and Anthony have kids all over the world clapping their hands, dancing and singing their chart topping hits!

After you have selected the date for your Wiggles party, send out Wiggles invitations. Pre-printed invitations, decorations and party ware can be found at almost any local party supply or discount store. Also there are an abundance of outlets on the Internet selling Wiggles-ware!

To avoid paying the high cost of pre-printed Wiggles gear, make your own invitations using the colors the Wiggles are famous for; purple, red, yellow and blue! Also buying solid colored plates, utensils, napkins and tablecloths will help keep money in your pocketbook while not wavering from the themed colors of the Wiggles party!

Everyone has a favorite Wiggles song, so make sure to have plenty of Wiggles music on hand for the Wiggles party. If you do not own a Wiggles CD call your local library system to see if they have one available to be checked out, or borrow one from a friend or family member. Put on some of the children抯 favorites and have a dance party!

Don抰 forget to include your favorite Wiggles characters at the Wiggles party! Have the children draw pictures of Dorothy the Dinosaur, Wags the Dog, Henry the Octopus, and Captain Feathersword.

Singing and dancing to the Wiggles tunes will have your guests wiggling with laughter!

I Love You, You Love Me, Kids Love a Barney Party

Barney Parties are fun for even the smallest of dinosaurs. Purchase pre-made Barney invitations, or design your own by using purple, orange, yellow and green paper, glitter and Barney and Friends stickers.

Invite your guests to bring one stuffed Barney toy to play with during the party. This will not only add to your decorations, but will keep little hands busy in between games, while showing Barney videos, or when serving snacks. Make sure these little Barneys make it back home as the guests leave.

Decorate for the Barney Party by hanging orange, purple, yellow and green streamers or crepe paper from the ceiling. Twist two colors together and hang them down the walls to brighten up a dark corner.

Make your own Barney cake or cupcakes by purchasing Barney figurines from a dollar or discount store. These figurines will be of higher quality and your child can play with them well after the party is over. The homemade cake can be frosted in purple, orange, yellow and green to match the decorations. Often these homemade cakes are much tastier and cheaper than store-bought cakes.

To keep the guests of all ages entertained gather them in a circle and sing Barney songs. While snacks are being prepared keep the children busy by having a Barney coloring contest. Free activity and coloring pages are available to be downloaded off of Barney抯 official website.

Most importantly, don抰 forget to have the camera ready for the Barney party. Reward your hard work by snapping photos of your terrific event!

Making a Kid’s Party Exciting

For small children, it isn抰 very difficult to have a kid抯 party that is fun for everyone, but as they become older, it becomes more difficult. You want to make it exciting for everyone, but you aren抰 sure just what to do. You need suggestions for things to do that won抰 bore the older children while keeping the younger children entertained.

It is usually about the age when children begin school that they start wanting to have their birthday party somewhere besides home: bowling alley, skating rink, amusement park, beach, and the like. If you are in a financial position to schedule your party at one of these places, it抯 great fun for the kids and gives them an opportunity to do something with their friends besides sit around the television or play video games all day. For those who can抰 afford a party away from home or simply don抰 want to plan that kind of party, there are other alternatives.

Most children under the age of twelve enjoy seeing a clown perform his magical tricks and make animals out of balloons. For the older child who feels he is too mature for a clown, it抯 still possible to hire a magician to come and perform some magical tricks for the children at the party. Though games such as 揚in the Tail on the Donkey?have been played for years, you can put a new twist on it with a change in the rules for prizes ?instead of everyone getting something, have 2-3 nice prices for those who are really good at the game.

If it抯 a summertime party, and you have a pool, developing some pool games can be a fun change of pace. All children love the pool, and if they can play games to win prizes, that抯 even better. You as the party planner may have some ideas of your own, but remember, making a party exciting means something different for different ages.

NHL Hockey Party Supplies & Party Planning

NHL hockey is back! With the new season comes a really cool new party supplies line that will make throwing the perfect hockey party seem like a breeze. I also have some great ideas to throw the ultimate street hockey birthday party regardless of the season! Winter or Summer, on snow or on pavement – a hockey fan is a hockey fan!

Invitations: Take a picture of the birthday child in their hockey gear for the front of the invitation. Make it a really cool pose with a hockey stick or in front of a net because this is going to made into a trading card invitation! Using card stock paper, trace out the accurate size of a trading card and then glue the pic onto it. On the back of the card instead of the stats, write the party information. Use your computer and some really cool black font for this. The last step would be to laminate or “mac tack” the card. You could hand them out as is or take it one step further. Along with the card, you could send a letter from the NHL Hockey League stating that they have been drafted by the NHL and they are required to report for practise along with their teammates from all across the country. Be sure to include the date, time and request that they come prepared with stick & jersey. Sign it by the president of the NHL or the head coach of your child’s favourite team place in an envelope and seal. Don’t forget the clip art logos to make it look super official!

Activities: A street hockey game of course! When all of the guests arrive, have a meeting in the locker room and tell them what they will be doing for their first day of practise. Take a moment to explain the rules of a street hockey game and the importance of good sportsmanship. Then surprise them with their very own jersey name plates. Before the party, use your computer to write out each child’s last name in bold print and laminate. As you call out names, pin each name tag to the back of the child’s jersey and assign them a team by pulling names or colours out of a hat. Have a few jerseys on hand in case some come without. Once everyone is geared, up, it is time to head out. The prep for the playing field would be 2 nets on opposite ends with the center line and the goalie crease lines marked out. On dry pavement this can be done with chalk and on snow this can be done with watered done poster paint. Face Off! Have some referees with whistles and cheerleaders with Pom Poms. Make sure to have plenty of water and sports drinks available. Have a fire blazing in a portable fire pit to warm up on a cold Winters day and a Sprinkler set up for the kids to run through on the hottest summer day. You really can have a hockey party all year round! If weather does not allow you to be outside or if you simply prefer the party to be indoors try these fun games and activities. Have an indoor hockey tournament using an air hockey table or a rod hockey table. If you don’t already have a table, chances are you know someone who does. Play “slapshot” using a goal, a stick but instead of a puck or ball, use a beach ball. It won’t hurt even if it does hit something or someone! Keep the net empty and the shooter about 15 feet back. Its harder than you might think! Be sure to have a hockey game playing on TV and a separate area set up with a gaming system like Wii or PlayStation where they can play their favourite hockey game.

Decorations: Even though the premise of this plan is to be outdoors most of the time, it still is fun to decorate one area of your house that may be used like the kitchen, where the food and cake are served, or the living room where the presents are opened. Decorate with the NHL licensed tableware and decorations. Decorate your walls with hockey memorabilia like posters, pictures and pennants. Place around old pucks, helmets, skates, jersey’s or sticks that are not in use to give it that real locker room feel. Finish the decorations off with balloons and streamers in your child’s favourite teams colours.

Menu: Go with stadium food. Serve hot dogs in foil , nachos in take out boxes and french fries out of paper cups. Keep it simple. This way the guests can eat indoors, outdoors or on the go. You might just have to drag them in for cake and presents though!

Loot Bags: Throw a twist into the regular tradition of the loot bag. Have an auction of sorts. Have a table full of items that the kids can purchase with their hockey money. Purchase a variety of favors like candy, pucks, hockey trinkets and even a few bigger ticket items. The idea would be for every kid to have around the same amount of money at auction time – $2000. The first time they receive money is when they arrive – Their $500 signing bonus. Throughout the game give $100 bonuses for sportsmanship, good manners and teamwork. Monopoly money works great. The actual cost of the items can rage from .99 to $5.00. For example, the .99 items should cost $100 in hockey money and the $5.00 items costing the whole $2000 in hockey money. Some kids may go all in for 1 item, and some may choose several small. The key is to have a wide variety of all price ranges. Pick names out of a hat to see who goes first and in what order. To be fair, have them choose only 1 item, whether its big or small. Keep going in order until everyone is out of money. Last of all, make sure to explain the auction well beforehand to avoid any confusion. The excitement level will be unbelievable as everyone is going home a winner!

Fun In Jungle With The Madagascar Party Theme

Kids love animals and having a Madagascar Party would be something that they are going to feel really excited about. When was the last time you took the kids to zoo? If that is something that you have not done in a while then it would be a high time to throw a Madagascar Party. To begin with, you are going to list down the kids that you are going to invite to your party. Once you have listed all the names, then you will come to know the number of invitation cards you are going to need.

Your invitation cards for Madagascar Party must have the pictures of Alex, Marty, Melman and Gloria. The kids definitely are going to love the invitation card with their favorite characters on it. The next step is to decide as to how you are going to plan your decorations for the party. It would be best if you think of making your party area a complete jungle environment with the trees around and you can place stuffed monkeys on them. You can also use the different stuffed animal toys that you have to decorate the party area.

Once your party area is ready for the Madagascar Party, you need to focus on the food that you are going to present at your party. The best thing would be to explore the foods that kids love the most and it would be best that the foods are rich in nutrition rather than junk food. After deciding the food, it is time to focus on the games for the party and the last thing that comes in line is the party favors that you are going to hand out to all the kids.

Accessories to Complete Any Halloween Costume

As we all know Halloween is just around the corner and many of you will be putting those last minute finishing touches to your costumes. The secret to an amazing costume this Halloween is to work out what accessories are needed to complete that special costume.

Short on time and can’t get to a costume store then why not order online. There are many costume and fancy dress stores which stock the products discussed in this article. Just remember to allow time for shipping to avoid disappointment.

Vampires without their fangs are like humans without teeth, so here are a few choices to look at.

Fangs:

Dentures come with putty which sits firmly over your own teeth.

Fangs come in a pair and glue onto your own eye teeth.

Glow in the dark teeth sit on the top & bottom of the teeth.

Full set of vampire teeth are designed to fit over both the top and bottom of the teeth.

Werewolves, vampires and devils all look purely evil with their special effect contact lenses.

Contact Lenses:

To really make your outfit stand out this year why not invest in a pair of specialized contact lenses which you can find in some optical stores or online, there are some really frightening ones out there!

Tattoos give that extra finishing touch to a vampire or cowboy costume.

Tattoos:

Puncture wounds are ideal for vampires.

Bullet holes use for cowboys and gangsters.

Slashes/grazes make terrific accident or vampire victims.

Let’s face it, make up can either make or break a costume if applied badly. However researching and trialing character make up prior to the party is time invested well.?/p>

Face paint (water based) generally a couple of coats needed to give that even all over coverage.

Cream makeup (greasepaint) usually gives a great coverage, provided it is applied properly.

Crayons are generally used for outlining areas.

Eyeshadow can be used for either bruises or shading specific areas of the face (hollows in the cheekbones for instance).

Eyebrow pencil is used to create definition for e.g. a vampire, witch etc

Talcum powder is mainly used to set greaseproof make-up.

Blood:

Blood capsules are a runny liquid and the colour is not so realistic.

Gel blood is a thick consistency and quite realistic.

Fake blood can be made from home made recipes, mainly found on the internet. It’s made with cornflour, water, corn syrup & food colouring.

There are some truly unique jewellery pieces in the market place that will give that WOW factor to your costume.

Jewellery:

Bat chokers are ideal for female vampires.

Studded collars are used for punk rockers or bondage victims.

Spider necklace & rings give the finishing look to any witch.

Hair:

Synthetic wigs are more affordable than the real thing, however the more you pay the better quality you can expect.

Real hair wigs are pricey, however they look very realistic.

Coloured hair extensions work really well scattered through a wig or a real head of hair. They give a bit of extra colour to an otherwise plain coloured wig e.g. witches

Coloured hair spray comes out after 1 or 2 washes.

Coloured fudge, beware!! You are looking at approximately 40 washes before it’s all gone.

Remember to take a costume bag along to hold your accessories in at the end of the night, as most people end up taking wigs and hats off and misplacing them.

Designing your costume should be fun so by putting a little thought into it will insure an amazing costume.

Unleashing Your Inner Child With This Classic Game

Games aren’t usually part of the adult’s vocabulary. When the term is conjured up, what is usually visualized is a group of children gathered around either a spot on the street or in front of a gaming console and television. Definitely not adult fare. But hey, grown ups need to unwind a little bit too! And there are some occasions wherein adults can also loosen up and play games like they were kids, especially if they’re in the presence of close friends and loved ones.

And what better venue for them to unleash their young hearts than in a baby shower? This is a place where only the closest family and friends are allowed so there’s no shame in it at all! Plus there are many games that you can play in a baby shower that not only give you loads of fun but also allows you to lose the trappings of adulthood and just be yourself.

One game that is perfect both for giving endless fun and for playing in the baby shower. It’s called pin the tail on the mommy! It’s a very cheap and effective game to play because the instructions are so simple (if you know how to play ‘pin the tail on the donkey’ then this game is a piece of cake!). You only need a cardboard cut-out of a little baby, ideally the size of a medium-sized doll and some double sided adhesive tape.

The mom-to-be stands in the middle of the room and just like in its parent game, pin-the-tail-on-the-donkey, the contestants are blindfolded and turned around, after which they try to pin the baby as close to the baby as possible. This is really great fun! But of course measures should also be taken to ensure that the mom and her kid aren’t hurt in the course of the game!

Ideas For First Birthday Parties

Wow, those first few months in a baby’s life go so quickly, don’t they? Isn’t it about time to begin thinking about first birthday party ideas? Because your baby cannot come up with her own party ideas, it’s all up to you the parent. You’d better get busy; there’s a ton of stuff to do!

Before you begin searching for first birthday party ideas, determine the party’s location and make the guest list. The place you decide to have your party, as well as the guests you invite, will help you formulate your ideas and help you decide on the best activities.

Kids’ first birthdays are primarily celebrated by the adults in their lives–parents, grandparents, and others. first birthday party ideas should be great fun, as well as appropriate for your space. Allowing small children at the party is all right, but you should attempt to limit it to just a few.

Another important aspect of first birthday party ideas is time. Usually, children’s first birthday parties should last one to two hours. If they are any longer, they will probably get fussy. For that very same reason you should try to limit the guest list to friends and family closest to the baby. A smaller party also makes it easier to find a few great first birthday party ideas.

Smaller groups allow you to plan fun activities for everyone. Little parties let you think about the past year and recognize how far the little scamp has come. For instance, you could decorate a poster-board with some pictures of your child at various milestones, but out of sequence. Then you can hand paper and pencils to the guests and have them write the dates of the memorable events and place their guesses next to the relevant photograph. This one is the hardest of all the ideas I’ve tried, but also one of the most fun!

It is very simple to find great first birthday party ideas when you have a small party–the people who love your little one the most. Looking for party supplies can be cheap and easy if you purchase a full set of theme party necessities online. Whatever your party ideas may end up being, finding the perfect party theme online will afford you more time to focus on getting more creative.
